Child of the 80's

I feel like I was born in the wrong decade. The so-called 90's. Sure, I listened to the Backstreet Boys and Britney's You Drive Me Crazy growing up, like everone else my age. However, I can't think of anything that I particularly liked about that decade. Not a single movie. Not a single song or band. Not a single show. Nada. Zilch. Zero.

When I think about the 80's, a lot of stuff comes into my head. I just don't get why I like movies like Valley Girl, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink so much. Can you believe that my favorite movie of all time is The Breakfast Club? I mean, my parents probably hadn't even met yet when that movie came out. I guess there's just something about the 80's that makes me like it so much.

And who could forget Air Supply? Sing it with me! I'm all out of love. I'm so lost without you... Okay, I'm getting carried away here. Bottomline: I looooooooooooove the 80's.

It's time to move on to a more serious topic.

College.

I'm excited and frazzled at the same time.

I mean, college is totally different from high school. A lot of kids at my school say that you get to be a whole different person in college. All your achievements and screw-ups back in high school are erased, and you get a clean slate.

I'm excited because I'm going to get to meet a lot of new people (New guys, mostly. I'm so sick of the shallow pea-brained guys at my high schooll. Not kidding.). I'm going to get to experience tons of new things. Everything is going to be different.

But I'm also scared.

Not to blow my own horn or anyting (figuratively speaking), but I've been a nerd eversince fresman year, and I became popular this school year, because of something I can't explain. All the kids know who I am. The teachers adore me.

TO be continued
